When I first see any piece of writing that I am to analyze, I first notice what really "stands out" and then go "deeper" into the writing to understand what the meaning is about, starting with the paragraph, then the sentences, the words, then the letters.
Following is an example of my actual comments, without much editing, that I sometimes will include with the analysis. I find that my clients like this bit of "extra" bonus content from me.
Many times I see signatures along with another sample of writing, but of course I will work with this solely. The signature is how one wants to be “seen” or perceived in public; not his/her home life. This signature is his “public” view and his personality that one allows to be presented and revealed publicly.
This person was artistic, perhaps a performer, having much
strong energy. Person signed name with a felt tip pen, if this was favorite pen
of choice, had a strong and forceful presence; he made his presence known when
he was in the room. This forcefulness got him through many obstacles and helped
him to become successful and finished major projects. “Large” writing: he could
be “larger than life” sometimes, maybe physically large; could be “loud” at
times; definitely a leader. If this sample was an actual sample, you might see
how this person may have almost pushed the pen through the paper by the
pressure of the pen. Artistic, with much energy. Quickness with keenness of
mind; inventive, resourceful, could keep to self at times. Liked projects and
completed projects but at times could be “his way or the highway”. Writing is
large; bigger than life; certainly bigger than any obstacle that came his way.
I cannot distinguish the name of this person. If one did not
know this person’s first and last name, just by reading this signature it shows
that this person appreciated his private life and kept it private. This person
kept some things private; in “secret” from the public.
