How I started in Graphology
I’ve been a graphic designer since I was very young and writing all over my bedroom walls, later in fourth grade I impressed others with my skill in drawing logos from product boxes and later graduated from college with a teaching degree in Art. Like many others in this business, I stumbled across a book (probably around my high school years), read it, and started looking at writing in a different way. Since I had a love and talent for art, the study of handwriting was a natural fit.
I’ve taught graphic design, which includes designing with type. All lettering typestyles we see today originated with human markings in the sand or on cave walls. From this, lettering evolved. We still make marks on paper when we write. This is “body language” expressed by our hand.
What IS Graphology?
Graphology is not really just the study of handwriting, but the study of all graphic movements such as handwriting, drawing, sculpting, doodles, and etching; all written symbols. These movements reveal feelings, intelligence, and physiology of the person during the time these written symbols were created.
Graphology IS NOT:
Handwriting expert Hal Falcon, Ph.D. states: “I am definitely not a fortune-teller, a seer, a mind-reader; I am not a prophet of the future. I am a “person-analyst” who obtains strictly scientific answers by applying proven psychological principals to the movements that a hand makes in the action of writing.
DISCLAIMER: I am a professional graphologist, but do not consider myself an “expert”. All readings at events are “quick” and for entertainment purposes. For such purposes as: forensics, etc. more time and in-depth study of the sample is required.
